my self insert green lantern! he's a regular guy who gets chosen by the ring ~6yrs prior to the events of man of steel. a lot happens up in space but he comes back when he hears about the presence of kryptonians on earth! the next few years are spent on earth, since the guardians didn't officially sanction him returning (they're very picky with him bc of his specialties) and he gets 'grounded' there.
