Final Fantasy: 16 aka FFXVI
what is it?
ffxvi is the 16th final fantasy game and is action-based combat with lots of story and lore!
it follows the story of clive rosfield, the eldest son of archduke elwin rosfield, who rules
over the duchy of rosaria. clive is a shield of rosaria and older brother to joshua, the
dominant of the phoenix. he's often accompanied by jill warwick, a ward of his fathers, and
their wolf-dog, torgal!
a huge part of xvi is their dominants, individuals who can turn into eikons - giant, powerful
and magical beings, like the phoenix, bahamut or odin. there are eight of them in total, one for
each element.
until.... ifrit, a second dominant of fire, appears in rosaria and the world turns more
than a little upside-down!
i'll hesitate to say more on it (spoilers!) but there is so much incredible lore that is built
into this
game and into the world of valisthea and so many beautifully well-writen themes.
the main theme tho is class and power - who has it, who keeps it and what they do with it.
at
some point i'll write a real essay about it but gosh. just trust me, they thought about it A
LOT.

fave lore tibids
okay fun tibids to share with you:
number one - one of the dominants is a literal baby that you beat up. i'm not kidding, and
he's the hardest fight in the entire game. it took me almost 3hrs.
number two - there are ten eikonic movesets you can have. have fun figuring that out :p
number three - this game will make you cry so much. but you'll love it, don't worry.
number four - there is a canon gay couple in this game, they're amazing and Square Enix
(ff's creators) stood by them n refused to censor their relationship. bigup.
special mention to my special boys
my favourite chars from this game are barnabas and sleipnir, they're two fellas from the kingdom of waloed and they are. so peculiar. they're very important to me and have really helped me in a mental health sense and also in a personal growth sense. it's hard to explain but it's true!
