altho this page is called manifesto, it mostly is just various beliefs i have and info that i think others should be aware of!
some of this info is from pages that may not be maintained / be pulled down from the internet for various reasons. we'll get to that dw

the premise is simple: everyone deserves to be free and equal.
this means:

their human rights dictated by the UN

access to housing, food, water, healthcare and electricity
freedom from the imperialist us empire
an end to the capitalist regime

so really just, freedom from oppression, discrimination and harm.

some good examples of what this means in the real world:

irl - inspirations

Mario Savio's speech at Burkley has an amazing call for action:

"There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part! You can't even passively take part! And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels ... upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop! And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all!"

that is sampled in LP's song Wretches and Kings.

this was the first i'd heard about the civil rights movement as a kid (thank you non-american schooling) in specifics beyond - "we love martin luther king, he fought for his dream! (please don't ask us about his later politics, or how he died or who killed him)"
this was (and continues to be) a huge inspiration to me and really developed how i view direct-action

the fictional - andor

okay yes it's from the star wars show - but the theme and wording speaks truth. andor is an explicitly anti-imperial text (albeit the 'fictional' galactic empire).
but it's important to remember that in george lucas' own words - the empire is inspired by the us empire, during the vietnam war. the writers, directors, actors in andor are vividly aware of this parallel.

the themes echo true in the real world too, even in a later scene where Luthen laments what he's given up to fight the empire, he states: "I'm condemned to use the tools of my enemy to defeat them. I burn my decency for someone else's future. I burn my life to make a sunrise that I know I'll never see."
the writers know they're part of the imperial empire in the real world, that they're using the tools of the enemy - of media, of the disney brand, used for propoganda - to spread this message.

the show continually shows the effort put into forming rebellions against empires, imperial regimes - and the losses too. it looks this loss in the face, the same way that the movie rogue one does, and says: this is worth it. you have to believe it. that even if you never see this sunrise, never see this future: it is worth it.
